Oral health care services for different ages

For children under school age, three oral and dental health examinations are arranged. During these examinations, you are instructed on daily brushings and healthy eating habits for your child. Your child's first dental clinic appointment takes place when the child is about one year old.

Children and young people of school age are invited to undergo oral health check-ups in the 1st, 5th and 8th school years. In addition, oral health examinations based on individual needs are carried out. The examinations are carried out either at a dental clinic or at school at a “pop-up” treatment point.

The Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa organises oral health services for those students who study full-time at a secondary education institution, vocational adult education institution, folk college, or sports education centre for at least two months. Oral health care for university of applied sciences and general university students is provided by the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS). No fee is charged for dental care for students under 18 years of age.

Customer fees

Oral and dental examinations and treatment are subject to a fee for all persons aged 18 and over.
