Payment for an unused and uncancelled service
A fee of €56.70 may be charged for all health care appointments and services if you fail to attend and do not cancel your appointment without an acceptable reason. The fee will also be charged if you or your representative have booked a short-term care or housing service place and you fail to arrive at the unit in question.
The fee is charged even if the service itself would have been free of charge, for example, a nurse’s appointment or a visit to the maternity clinic. The fee may also be charged for remote appointments. No fee is charged for those under the age of 18.
However, the fee is not charged if its collection would be unreasonable.
You can avoid the fee by cancelling your booked appointment or service at least 24 hours before it is scheduled to start.
What to do if you have been charged a €56.70 fee and believe it is unjustified?
If you are charged a fee for an unused service and are dissatisfied with it, first contact customer service: the contact information can be found on your invoice. If the matter is not resolved through customer service and there is still uncertainty, you have the right to submit a request for administrative review.
