Online friend activities

The Red Cross provides friends where they are needed. If you are feeling lonely and need the company of another person, you can apply for a Red Cross online friend. Online friends are trained volunteers who work with the skills of an ordinary person.
You can have one-on-one, anonymous conversations with a trusted online friend online, via email or chat applications. Online friendship is not limited by time or place. Face-to-face meetings are not considered online friendships.
The service is free.
Toimi näin
You can get an online friend by filling out the online friend request form on the Red Cross website. Once you have submitted a friend request, you will be contacted by email. Also check your spam folder if you have not received the message within two weeks of submitting the friend request.
