Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra Concerts

Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra is a full-sized symphony orchestra with 97 musicians. It performs in Tampere Hall, the largest concert hall in Finland. Since August 2023, the orchestra’s Artistic Director and Chief Conductor has been Matthew Halls.
The orchestra’s concert season begins in August with the traditional Park Concert and continues until the end of May. In addition to genre-crossing symphony concerts, Tampere Philharmonic performs opera and ballet annually and takes part in the Tampere Biennale festival. Many symphony concerts are preceded by a free "Pre-Concert talk" event, where the evening’s music is presented and discussed. Dates for these events can be found on the orchestra’s website.
The orchestra also has its own chamber music series, Faunien iltapäivä (Afternoon of Fauns), which has been running since 1996. Chamber music concerts are held about once a month during the season, and the programs are curated based on the musicians’ own initiatives.
In addition, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra offers open dress rehearsals during the concert season. These rehearsals provide an affordable way to explore classical music and get a behind-the-scenes look at the orchestra in action.

Ticket sales
Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra is based at Tampere Hall. You can buy tickets from the Tampere Hall ticket office, Cultural Shop Aplodi and the Lippupiste sales channes and Lippu.fi online store (Lippupiste adds service and order fee to the ticket prices, along with possible delivery and payment method charges).
Open dress rehearsals
Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra's friend association, Pro Orchestra, sells tickets to open dress rehearsals in the Tampere Hall lobby before the rehearsal begins. Tickets cost 7 €. Dates and more information about open rehearsals can be found on the orchestra’s website.
